Reptile Man returns June 15 at 2 p.m. at the Hood River County Library to start the Summer Reading Program. The event will feature dessert and opportunities to sign up for summer reading.

Summer Reading for all ages kicks off with an interactive performance with Oregon’s Reptile Man on Saturday, June 15 at 2 p.m. at the Hood River County Library. This event will feature dessert and opportunities for all ages to sign up for summer reading.

Summer Reading will begin at the kickoff and culminate with the annual Unity Picnic on Aug. 17 at 5:30 p.m. Visit any library branch to sign up to attend programs and earn prizes.

Programs include workshops and performances by Didgeridoo Down Under, Ukalaliens, The Curt Show, Angel O’Casio, writing workshops, makerspace activities and more, including:

June 19 — Bilingual comedian Angel Ocasio at the Parkdale Library from 3-4 p.m.; Master of Marvels Tim Alexander at the Hood River Library from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

June 21 — Giant Bubbles at the Parkdale Library, 11 a.m. to noon.

June 22 — Giant Bubbles at the Cascade Locks Library, 11 a.m. to noon.

June 25 — Teen Gaming Night at the Cascade Locks Library, 4-6 p.m. Card and board games, Nintendo. Light snacks provided.

June 26 — The Curt Show with juggler Curt Carlyle, 203 p.m. at the Cascade Locks Library and 5:30-6:30 p.m.
