Oak Grove Park received a generous amount of TLC last week, when volunteers of all ages from the community, Friends of Oak Grove and the Insitu Volunteer Committee got together to complete a wide variety of tasks in the park. Friends of Oak Grove would like to thank: Volunteers for their hard work; Mikel Diwan of Hood River County Public Works for support; Hood River Supply for donating painting supplies and drill bits; Arborists Ryan Cafferty and Chris Baker for their work and advice; Dirt Hugger for donating clean dirt; Neal Creak Forest Products for providing cedar wood chips for the playground; an anonymous donation of sand; Tum-a-Lum for donating posts to make new stairs; Brent Foster for donating rebar for the stairs; Hood River Handball Association for striping fresh lines on the handball courts; and West Side Fire Department for power washing the tennis courts.
