Nate Larson and Kyle Cozad were sworn in Feb. 1 by Sheriff Matt English, as Hood River County’s newest deputy sheriffs. Larson and Cozad fill positions recently vacated by retirement.

Larson is local to Hood River County and worked for Rosauers prior to joining the sheriff’s office full-time. Larson is a former Hood River County Reserve deputy sheriff and recently made a decision to return to law enforcement, his life-long passion.

Cozad grew up in the Gorge, graduating from The Dalles High School. He is a United States Marine Corps veteran and for the last decade worked as a police officer with the Case Western University Police Department in Cleveland, Ohio.

“We are very pleased to have such qualified, dedicated individuals joining our office,” said English. “Nate and Kyle came to work excited and ready to go. I know they will be great assets to our office.”
