“Feast of Words,” the annual Hood River County Library Foundation fundraiser and “party in the library,” returns March 10 to the downtown branch from 6-9 p.m., with music, food, desserts, beverages, live music and silent and live auctions.

Waucoma Bookstore is hosting author Stephen Holgate for a book signing on Friday, July 7 from 5-8 p.m. Holgate will be signing his novel, “Tangier,” a story of fathers and sons, the alienation of being a stranger in a strange land, the seductive face of betrayal, and finally, the lengths we’ll go to for redemption.

Waucoma Bookstore and Double Mountain Brewery host Hood River author Amy Shively Hawk for a book talk on Tuesday, April 18 at 6 p.m. Shively Hawk will be discussing her new book, “Six Years in the Hanoi Hilton.” The book is the story of her father, Captain James Shively, a Vietnam POW who survived six years in captivity. This event is free and open to the public.

Waucoma Bookstore is celebrating its 40th anniversary on Oct. 8 at the bookstore, located at 212 Oak St., Hood River, with a book signing with local authors Joe O’Neill and Vikki Claflin.
